CHENNAI: There are 400 staff nurse vacancies in Primary Health Centres in the State and all particulars have been submitted to the Directorate of Medical and Rural Health Services by public health authorities.
Dr.T.S.Selva Vinayagam, Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, has said that the Directorate of Public Health had given vacancy details to the DMS for further action.
“Tamil Nadu has a very strong PHC network in the country where all aspects of public health are taken care of. TN is way ahead in primary healthcare. There are 2,286 PHCs in our State including the urban PHCs. We are taking several measures to reduce maternal mortality with clear goals,” the Director of Public Health Dr.T.S.Selva Vinayagam has said in Chennai on January 6th 2024.
He also said that thereĀ is nothing to worry or panic about the new virus variant talked about on the COVID-19 cases.
“It is not a harmful one, what is needed is just be careful, wear a mask and go. Vaccination is not needed at the current stage. The situation is being assessed by public health authorities and experts,” the DPH said while speaking to ‘Lotus Times’ media in Chennai today- on January 6th 2024.
