MADURAI: The efforts to get November month salary and pension for the staff and pensioners of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) in Madurai are being continued in a tireless manner by the staff, pensioners and associations.
On December 26th 2023, the MKU Pensioners Association office-bearers met the university Vice-Chancellor and university Registrar in this regard, and they were informed by them that Rs.23 crores file is in Finance Department for the approval through Higher Education Department and it has been moved to the Secretariat, university sources said here today.
In the secretariat in Chennai, there is a procedure to get approval, and if the amount exceeds Rs.10 crores it has to get the approval of Chief Minister, so it may take a minimum of three working days to get the CM approval, the press release added.
The MKU Registrar in-charge and the Vice-Chancellor are rushing to Chennai for impotant meetings in this MKU salary and pension issue on 28th December 2023 and according to sources “the two months pension for retired MKU employees will be disbursed before January 10th 2024. So, we ought to wait till that date.”
