MADURAI: The Lady Doak College in Madurai had celebrated Christmas Carol Service with joy and jubilation on December 9th 2023 evening with the theme ‘Reason to Rejoice’ in which college students sand Christmas carols and also Christmas songs in Tamil and English by teaching and non-teaching staff together.
Rev.Dr.Pradeep Kumar Samantaroy, Bishop, Diocese of Amritsar-Church of North India, who was the guest speaker, had delivered the Christmas message by saying that God’s ways are mysterious and it is a mystery how God connects with people and connects the people.
“God wanted to share his love with human beings. So, he sent his son Jesus Christ to the world so that people will not die. Christmas is a festival of love and music. In the Bible, the oldest reference to poetic language is Adam’s song about Eve. In Christmas, we discover God’s heart and his love for the people,” he said while addressing a large gathering of LDC students and staff here.
Dr.Christianna Singh, Principal and Secretary, LDC, Dr.Jessie Ranjitha Jebaselvi, college Chaplain and Dr.Rani Rosalene, assistant Chaplain, were among those present. The closing prayer and benediction was given by Rt.Rev.Dr.M.Joseph, former Bishop, CSI Madurai and Ramnad Diocese, a press release received from the college today has said.
