UGC holds exam again on Dec 14th thanks to Madurai MP, for cyclone hit Chennai and Nellore UGC-NET candidates

MADURAI: The recent cyclone affected candidates in Chennai and Nellore areas will have another opportunity to appear in the UGC-NET December 2023 exam on December 14th 2023.

Thanks to the special efforts and initiative taken from Tamil Nadu by Madurai Lok Sabha MP Mr.Su.Venkatesan by requesting the Union Government and UGC Chairman Prof.M.Jagadesh Kumar in his letter dated 6th December 2023 to reschedule the UGC-NET exam date from 6th December 2023 to a different date for cyclone affected Chennai candidates.

Responding to Madurai MP’s request, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced on 12th December 2023 that the NTA had decided to give another opportunity for candidates in cyclone hit areas to appear in the UGC-NET December 2023 Exam (for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for assistant professor in 83 subjects in computer based test mode from 6th Dec), which will be conducted on 14th December 2023 for cyclone affected candidates in Chennai and Nellore, and for those candidates only who could not appear in the exam for all subjects which were actually scheduled on December 6th 2023.

The UGC-NET exam date decision for 14th December 2023 was conveyed to the Madurai Lok Sabha MP Mr.S.Venkatesan in an official letter by Rajesh Kumar IRS, Director (Exams), NTA.
