MADURAI: The Postgraduate and Research Department of History of Lady Doak College in Madurai had celebrated ‘Heritage 2023’ on November 23rd 2023 by conducting a cultural extravaganza showcasing the history and culture at Phoenix Club’s World Heritage Week celebration event.
Mr.C.Sundar, a ‘Chithiraiveedhikaran’ and lab assistant in physics department of LDC, who was invited as chief guest, spoke about the rich cultural heritage of Madurai and the need for protection of heritage sites in Madurai, a press release from the college has informed.
Diverse cultural points were highlighted in this program that had traditional performances by students and expo too with art gallery etc. Prizes were distributed to the participants for their creativity. Dr.Christiana Singh, Lady Doak College principal and secretary, had appreciated the initiative taken by the History Department of LDC.
Ms.Preethi, second year M,A.History student and PG representative of the college cabinet, had proposed a vote of thanks for those who supported for the resounding success of ‘Heritage 2023’ event in Lady Doak College in Madurai on 23rd November 2023.
