Vellore-born cardiologist gets great in Germany: European Union selects him for ‘Heart Fellowship’ for angio and pace-maker training

MADURAI: Dr.R.Aravind Kumar, who was born in Vellore in Tamil Nadu, is giving his heart out for heart care across the world from Germany.

Dr.Aravind Kumar, an Indian-German permanent resident, was recently honoured with prestigious award and training fellowship by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and by the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) giving him a Fellowship of 25,000 Euros.

Information received here from Germany on November 22nd 2023 has informed that Dr.Radhakrishnan was successful in his application for EAPCI grant programme 2023 for interventional cardiology education and training.

“Dr.R.Aravind Kumar, a permanent resident of Germany, had worked as a physician in S.M.H. in Ranipet and SIH-R and LC Karigiri Hospital. He went to Europe in 2013 for his PG. He did his cardiology training as well as heart failure fellowship in Germany, Switzerland and in Royal Brompton Hospital in London. The EAPCI award is eligible for cardiologists under 40 years and to those who are either citizens or permanent residents of European Union countries or cardiology societies with ESC. On behalf of Germany, he got selected for this fellowship with 25,000 Euros through which he will be doing training in angio, pacemaker and structural procedures. Dr.Aravind conducts heart screening camps to prevent cardiovascular diseases,” the press release said.
