CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Governor Mr.R.N.Ravi had today presented the 26th Mahaveer Awards at a function held in Raj Bhavan here and organised by Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation.
At the awards presentation, the Governor had felicitated the awardees and stressed the spiritual significance and service philosophy of Mahaveer Jain for the benefit of humanity.
The Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation here had presented awards in four categories, and the awardees are: Dhyan Foundation-New Delhi in the field of non-violence, Friends of Tribals Society-West Bengal in the field of education, Jan Swasthya Sahyog of Chattisgarh in the field of medicine and Nongstoin Social Service Society of Meghalaya in the field of community and social service.
Mr.T.S.Krishnamurthy, former Chief Election Commissioner of India and Member of selection jury for Mahaveer Awards, was invited to preside over the awards presentation function. Among those who were present include S.Prasanchand Jain, managing trustee of Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation, and trustees Pramod Jain and Pratik Jain.
