APPEAL TO NIRMALA SITHARAMAN: TN Foodgrains Merchants Assn wants to meet 5 UNION MINISTERS ON GST ISSUES

MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association has made an appeal to the Union Finance Minister Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman on 19th November 2023 urging her to make arrangements for meeting five Union Ministers soon along with concerned Ministry authorities to express their grievances, demands and practical difficulties about GST issues etc.

On behalf of the association, its secretary S.Sai Subramaniam and association advisor S.P.Jeyapragasam along with executive committee member S.V.Suraj Sundara Shankar had met Union Finance Minister Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman in person in Madurai on 19th November 2023 and submitted a memorandum to her about the defects and shortcomings in GST Act. (The issues raised are about GST Act, Food Safety and Standards Act, ban on plastics, electricity tariff and commerce industry issues).

“We are ready to meet you along with representatives of certain trade organizations and associations. Our recommendations and suggestions will bring the genuine stakeholders back to business and eliminate tax evaders. We request you to make arrangements to meet 5 Union Ministers along with authorities to listen to our just demands. We request for appointment with you- the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Labour Minister Bhupender Yadav, Power Minister Raj Kumar Singh and Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal,” the Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association honorary secretary S.Sai Subramaniam and honorary advisor S.P.Jeyapragasam have appealed from Madurai on 19th November 2023.
