MADURAI: The Madurai Kamaraj University Pensioners’ Association has called for a hunger strike fasting on 17th October 2023 from 10 am to 5 pm in front of the Registrar’s office chamber in the varsity campus here to insist, demand the MKU authorities to immediately disburse salary and pension for the month of September 2023.
In a press statement dated 16th October 2023 which was issued in Madurai today, the association president Dr.A.Srinivasan and secretary Mr.A.Swaminathan had informed the media reporters that there is a perennial problem in the university faced by authorities in disbursing of salary and pension to employees and retired employees.
“Since our university currently faces a critical financial situation, the disbursal of pension seems to be a problem perennial, so we are pushed to go for fasting as a first step. The Madurai Kamaraj University Pensioners Association wants to draw the attention of Government of Tamil Nadu,” the press release from association secretary Mr.A.Swamiathan, has said here today- on October 16th 2023.
