MADURAI: The Research Centre and Department of Economics of Lady Doak College (LDC) in Madurai had conducted a one-day workshop on September 19th 2023 on the topic ‘community based participatory research’ for the 3rd year UG and 2nd year PG students of Economics.
Dr.Madhan Kumar of Dhan Foundation in Madurai had explained the community dynamics and the importance of community-based research by sharing popular tools and techniques that are available for participatory research. He had stressed on the benefits of community engagement like rapport building, need analysis and value the community expertise.
“Nearly 100 students and 13 faculty members had benefited from this program conducted by the Lady Doak College in Madurai with support given by college Principal and Secretary Dr.Christianna Singh (Head of the Department of Economics). The LiFE course facilitators Dr.Helen Mary Jacqueline, Mrs.Janaki Ganapathy, Mrs.Poongodi P, Dr.Uma Maheswari T and Ms.Priyadharshini had organised this special programme,” a press release received from LDC today has said.
