MADURAI: The financial crisis being faced by the Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) here is getting reflected on the college staff who are correcting the answer scripts of students in the answer paper correction every semester.
“Those teaching faculty staff who had corrected the MKU students’ answer sheets are yet to receive the paper valuation remuneration amount from university for the past several months and the worst affected are those teaching staff from colleges who had corrected the English subject answer paper of students. From January 2023, we are waiting for paper valuation amount. The MKU authorities said that they will credit the money to our bank account. Not yet given till now. For last two semesters we are waiting, it is waiting for English, Tamil, History, Commerce etc. Per paper it is Rs.12 for UG course and Rs.15 for PG course. The most affected are the staff from Self-Financing stream/ SF courses from colleges who came for paper valuation. The Central Government fund seems to be misused by MKU authorities. We are appealing to the MKU to immediately pay for MKU answer paper valuation fees which is due to the faculty who came from colleges,” an appeal was made to the MKU while speaking to ‘Lotus Times’ media in Madurai on September 13th 2023.
