MUTA president attacked in Madurai, call for protests in all colleges on 16th August

MADURAI: Colleges in Madurai and surrounding districts are expected to witness serious protests tomorrow as teachers’ association MUTA has given a strong call to all its units to hold protests condemning the physical attack on MUTA president Mr.A.T.Senthamaraikannan at MKU College here on August 15th 2023.

In an urgent communication sent to its members and media today evening, MUTA had asked for holding demonstration and protests before colleges because its president Mr.A.T.Senthamaraikannan was attacked today morning in his college campus, and got injured when he went to attend the Independence Day function at MKU College in Madurai where he is working as a faculty.

“There are a few complaints against Prof.P.Kabilan who is also working in the same MKU College. The members of SFI had complained to MKU Registrar already against Prof.Kabilan. So, when MUTA president A.T.Senthamaraikannan went to the college to attend the Independence Day function, he was attacked and got injured. MUTA is demanding action against the person who had attacked our MUTA president Dr.A.T.Senthamaraikannan and also take action against the person who is behind this attack,” MUTA has said in its communication sent to the media today evening- on 15th August 2023 and asked its units and members to stage demonstrations in colleges tomorrow (on 16th August 2023).
