MADURAI: The qualities of a true leader and what is right leadership were highlighted at the Founder’s Day celebration and Student Cabinet inauguration of Lady Doak College (LDC) in Madurai on July 26th 2023.
Ms.Minu Pramod- IRS, Additional Director General, Zonal Training Institute, National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics, Cochin, who was the chief guest and also an alumna of LDC, spoke about leadership qualities.
“A leader should be a person of integrity, courage and boldness. A leader must have an innate hunger for justice and righteousness. Women in society must be able to live with dignity. Leadership is about finding solutions and not gossiping or mocking others. A true leader must have the thirst for truth and stand for the truth and this is the motto of Lady Doak College in Madurai,” the chief guest Ms.Minu Pramod has said and expressed her gratitude to the college.
She spoke about the founding principles of LDC which gives quality education and Christian character. She also told the students of how she found eternal truth when she was an undergraduate zoology student in LDC. Dr.Christianna Singh, Principal and Secretary, Lady Doak College, had given introductory remarks and installed the office-bearers of Student Cabinet for academic year 2023-24.
Among those who were present in the founder’s day celebration and student cabinet inauguration ceremony include college Vice-Principal Dr.R.Beulah Jeyashree, Dean of student affairs (aided) Dr.S.Arockia Shyamala Paniyarasi, Dean of student affairs (self-financed courses) Dr.Mouna Sundari and student cabinet president Ms.M.Lorraine Regi.
Students from Centre for Women Studies of the college made a solidarity statement against the violence against women in Manipur.
