MADURAI: The American College in Madurai has today launched a health mix product called ‘Holy’ Health Mix’ (Sathumaavu) that comes in 200 grams packets prepared with 27 ingredients of high nutrient value and got certification from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The price is Rs.120 per packet.
This health mix is a health product coming with FSSAI approval from the Department of Food Science and Nutrition of The American College in Madurai and contains healthy ingredients like cardamom, white corn, dry ginger, cashewnut, almonds, corn, peanuts, jeeragam, Ragi, walnuts etc. It is now available in the college store in the college campus in Madurai.
Rev.Dr.Xavier Vedam SJ, general secretary of AIACHE-New Delhi (All India Association for Christian Higher Education), had launched the ‘Holy’ health mix product at the launch function held in American College campus in Madurai on July 21st 2023 and the first sachet was received by Rev.Yakope in the presence of Dr.M.Davamani Christober, Principal and Secretary of American College, Dr.A.Martin David, Vice-Principal, Dr.M.Beaula Ruby Kamalam, college Bursar, Dr.K.Nithya, PG department Head and Dr.S.Priyadarshini, UG Head and Dr.J.Gracia, coordinator.
Rev.Dr.Xavier Vedam had congratulated the efforts put in by the faculty and students of Department of Food Science and Nutrition, Department of Food Processing and Preservation for making the college proud.
“This Holy health mix is a blessed product for American College and coming from our college. We got the FSSAI certification in June 2023, this health mix contains 27 good health ingredients. It is a multigrain mix that is good for health and just one glass of ‘Holy’ is equal to breakfast. There is no added sugar or preservative in this,” Dr.M.Davamani Christober, Principal and Secretary of American College, has said at the launch function held on July 21st 2023.

Addressing the gathering at the launch event in Madurai today, AIACHE general secretary Rev.Dr.Xavier Vedam SJ has urged the department faculty and students to focus on marketing ‘Holy’ Health Mix and commended the American College’s Department of Food Science and Nutrition for launching a new product from its premises.
Dr.Davamani Christober has said that the American College feels proud for launching a health mix product in the ‘International Year of Millets 2023’. The message that came out from the launch event held at American College in Madurai today was that the product launch by the Department of Food Science and Nutrition is an inspiration because it carries essential nutrients and is a right product for wellness since it gives balanced nutrient mix.
