MADURAI: Tamil Nadu BJP general secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan has today questioned the silence of Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin on the Mekedatu dam issue which is the major water issue between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu right now.
“The Delhi Chief Minister Mr.Arvind Kejriwal could get the Congress Party’s support for ordinance before attending the opposition parties meet in Bengaluru today- on July 18th 2023. Did our Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.Stalin get similar assurance from the Karnataka government on Mekedatu issue which is raising political tempers and people’s concerns? In Karnataka, there is Congress government and the Cauvery river water issue is known to everybody for people of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. So, can our Chief Minister Mr.Stalin get an assurance from the Congress party government and Karnataka Chief Minister today after attending the meeting with all national level opposition party leaders in Bengaluru,” the BJP senior leader Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan has asked at a press meet held in party office Madurai on July 18th 2023.
Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan has also asked why the DMK was silent when the Karnataka Congress party unit included Mekedatu in its latest election manifesto, “and why the DMK did not object it before the recent assembly elections held in Karnataka.” A point raised by the BJP leader in today’s press meet was why Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.Stalin could not get an assurance from Karnataka State government about the objections of Tamil Nadu farmers and people when Delhi CM Mr.Kejriwal got an assurance from the major party called Congress Party about the Delhi Ordinance taking away CM powers.
