Sivakasi ANJA College aims for ‘Drug Free TN’

SIVAKASI: The Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College at Sivakasi had organised a massive awareness programme to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’, which is observed every year on June 26th, by giving a strong message from the college campus saying that ‘Let us have a drug free Tamil Nadu soon’.

This event was jointly organized by Anti-Drug Club, National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS) of ANJA College, a press release received from the college has informed. Dr.C.Ashok, Principal, who presided over the awareness programme, had urged the students to know about the evils of drugs and drug addiction.

“The role of common people is very important to prevent drug abuse and illicit trafficking. It is crucial to keep away from this evil habit. Our mission should be towards ‘Let us have a drug free Tamil Nadu soon,” Principal Dr.C.Ashok has said. Students took a oath for prevention of drug abuse and more than 500 students from NSS and NCC took part in this programme.

Coordinators of Anti-Drug Club, Dr.N.P.Sudarmani, Dr.M.Satheeshkumar Dr.J.John Wilson and Dr.T.Chandrakumar, officers of NCC and Programme Officers of NSS units had made arranegements for the programme, the press release said.
