MKU Vice Chancellor going on 1 month leave; special committee formed for university’s regular functioning

MADURAI: The Vice-Chancellor of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) Prof.J.Kumar is going on a one-month leave from July 3rd 2023 on medical grounds.

A special Syndicate members’ meeting of MKU was held in the university campus today- on June 30th 2023- to discuss about the one month leave request made by MKU Vice-Chancellor Prof.Dr.J.Kumar, and the one month leave was granted to the Vice-Chancellor because he sought leave for medical reasons, MKU sources told ‘Lotus Times’ media website in Madurai immediately after the special Syndicate meeting held here on June 30th 2023.

“Because it is a very long absence of our university Vice-Chancellor who sought one month leave on medical grounds and his health issues, the Syndicate meeting was specially convened today- on June 30th 2023. To look after the regular functioning of university, a special committee has been formed today- a five-member committee has been formed. The Higher Education Secretary, Law Secretary, Governor nominee Mr.Vasudevan and MKU Syndicate members Mr.Pushparaj and Mr.Nagarathinam are members of this committee, that will look after the daily operations and functioning of MKU in the absence of Vice-Chancellor,” sources told ‘Lotus Times’ media in Madurai today.
