MADURAI: The much awaited Madurai Metro Rail project is soon getting into action stage as the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for this major project which is estimated to cost about Rs.7,500 crores is ready and the project report will be submitted to the Tamil Nadu State government on July 15th 2023.
Senior IAS officer Mr.M.A.Siddique, who is the Managing Director of Chennai Metro Rail Limited, had met the officials at a final review meeting held in Madurai district collectorate today- on June 28th 2023.
“The Detailed Project Work is completed, the report is almost ready. Madurai Metro train project final report will be submitted to the Tamil Nadu government on July 15th 2023. The Madurai Metro rail project is for a distance of 32 kms stretch of which five kilometres will be underground, there will be totally 27 stations for Madurai Metro train with three stations of metro rail as underground stations- at Madurai Periyar Bus stand, Meenakshi Amman Temple and at Goripalayam,” he told reporters in Madurai today.
Among those who attended this important meeting of Madurai Metro rail project include Madurai District Collector Ms.M.S.Sangeetha, Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.K.J.Praveen Kumar and others.
