Meenakshi Temple hundis collection Rs.1.75 crores as offerings in cash by devotees; counting done on June 23rd 2023

MADURAI: The hundis of Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in Madurai and its 10 satellite temples were opened and the offerings made by devotees in hundis were counted here on June 23rd 2023.

A press release received from the temple yesterday has informed that the hundi collection was Rs.1,75,15,227 in cash and gold offering of one kilo and 047 grams. The silver collection in hundis was one kilo and 942 grams while there were 410 foreign currency notes.

Mr.S.Krishnan, Joint Commissioner and Executive Officer of Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, has informed that the hundis in Meenakshi Amman temple and its 10 affiliated temples were opened and counted in the presence of senior officials from temples and officials from the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department besides bank staff and temple employees who were involved in the counting of hundis collection which was done in Madurai on 23rd June 2023.
