MADURAI: An urgent petition is being given to the Vice-Chancellor of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) here urging him to take immediate steps for filling up all the top six nodal officer positions in the varsity which are being run on in-charge basis presently.
The MKU had issued an official notification a few days back inviting applications from eligible candidates for the posts of university Registrar and Controller of Examinations.
“Why the university did not call for applications for Dean (College Development Council) post? When the notification was given for Registrar and Controller of Exams, why this important post of Dean (CDC) was left out. The Dean-CDC is important for affiliated colleges and there are so many issues faced by colleges- whether it is faculty, courses or students. We want to know why the university did not give notification for Dean (CDC) post,” Dr.M.Davamani Christober, an elected Syndicate member of MKU and Principal of American College in Madurai, has questioned while speaking to ‘Lotus Times’ English media website on June 21st 2023.
Meanwhile, sources said that the MUFA had given a petition to Vice-Chancellor today evening requesting him to fill up all the important nodal officer posts on permanent basis by appointing full-time persons, because they are now being held in in-charge basis, including the Director of Distance Education and Special Officer etc. The Madurai Kamaraj University Faculty Association (MUFA) is sending its request letter to all the Syndicate members and Higher Education Secretary on June 22nd 2023 seeking their quick intervention in the interest of university administration.
