MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry from Madurai is gearing up for the start of its centenary year celebrations which commence in October 2023, by planning to hold several events related to trade and industry, and to implement a few important community service projects through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
“The centenary year celebrations will start in October 2023 because the Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established in 1924. There will be a year long public importance programs that will be organized by our chamber. We are planning to invite our Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi as chief guest for the inauguration of centenary year celebrations in October 2023 to Madurai. We are very happy to celebrate 100th year in a grand manner in Madurai. We have sent our request letter for having PM’s presence for our centenary year celebrations’ inaugural function in Madurai. It was sent to the PM’s office. Celebrating centenary year is a great moment for all of us, for the trade and industry in southern districts of Tamil Nadu, and so we are trying to have our Prime Minister for the 100th year celebrations inaugural in October 2023 here in Madurai,” Dr.N.Jegatheesan, president of Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, told ‘LotusTimes’ media website www.lotustimes.org here on June 9th 2023.
Dr.Jegatheesan also indicated today that the TN Chamber is going to implement a few social service projects through CSR initiatives, and setting up of electric crematoriums in Madurai city are among the projects to be done in the 100th year of TN Chamber centenary year at a cost of about Rs.4 crores- at Matuthavani press colony in Madurai and in Tiruparankundram area.
