CHENNAI: Thanks to the quick steps taken by Indian Railway in the last two days at the train derailment place in Balasore in Odisha, the restoration work was completed with continuous monitoring done by Union Railway Minister Mr.Ashwini Vaishnaw for the last two days.
“Both the up and down lines were declared fit, the first train was run on down line at 10.40 pm on June 4th 2023 and the first train was run on up line at 00.05 hrs on June 5th 2023. Normal traffic movement has resumed on both the lines,” a press release received from Southern Railway today morning has informed.
Train number 12841 Shalimar-Chennai Coromandal Express and train number 12864 Sir M.Visveswaraya-Howrah Superfast Express got derailed near Bahanaga Bazar railway station in Odisha at around 18.55 hrs on June 2nd 2023. Train services got severely affected due to the derailment.
“Now the up and down main lines declared fit for normal train movement, the restoration work at derailment site is completed near Balasore in Odisha,” the press release said.
