MADURAI: Senior academician Mr.Jawahar Nesan had quit as a member of the Tamil Nadu Government’s high level committee constituted by Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin last year to formulate a distinct and unique State Education Policy for Tamil Nadu.

His resignation is being seen as a big setback by academic fraternity in the State because academicians are expressing unanimously that Mr.Jawahar Nesan had given valuable inputs for drafting an unique State Education Policy for Tamil Nadu.

Prof.Dr.R.Murali of Save Higher Education-Tamil Nadu has said in an urgent press release issued from Madurai on May 10th 2023 that it is unfortunate that Mr.Jawahar Nesan who worked for getting valubale inputs for the education policy had decided to come out of the High Level Committee for various reasons and allegations that “he was insulted by a senior IAS officer in the State government and that some forces are trying to influence and bring in the National Education Policy contents into the Tamil Nadu State Education Policy being drafted now.”

Well-known education activist Mr.Prince Gajendra Babu who gives voice for equality and social justice in the field of education has said today that he had already alerted about what is happening with regard to Mr.Jawahar Nesan but the government did not heed to his alert. “It is a matter of concern that Mr.Jawahar Nesan had come out of the high level committee,” Mr.Prince Gajendra Babu said in a message on May 10th 2023.
