MADURAI: The Higher Education Department of Government of Tamil Nadu had constituted a high level committee to conduct an enquiry into allegations said to have been committed in awarding promotions under Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) in Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) and probe into the complaints that lapses occurred in some cases in CAS-2017 promotion list, going against the UGC regulations.
An order to this effect was issued as G.O. (D) No.112 of Higher Education (K1) Department dated 11th April 2023 informing that “the Government, after careful examination has decided to constitute a high level committee comprising subject experts and academicians for enquiry into allegations said to have been committed in awarding promotions under CAS in Periyar University-Salem, Madurai Kamaraj University-Madurai and Annamalai University-Chidambaram.”
The copy of this G.O. Dated 11-04-2023 order by Mr.D.Karthikeyan, Principal Secretary to Tamil Nadu Government Higher Education Department was sent to the high level committee members, Registrars of three universities (Periyar University, MKU and Annamalai University) and other officials in concerned departments of the government. Names of members who are in this high level committee were given in the G.O. dated 11th April 2023 ordering for an high level enquiry.
The High Level Committee has been directed by the government to submit its report to the government within a period of eight weeks from the date of issue of Government Order (11th April 2023) and the concerned universities directed to render all necessary assistance to the members of the High Level Committee constituted to probe into allegations said to have been committed in CAS promotions in these three universities in Tamil Nadu.
