CHENNAI: Thanks to the special efforts by Rajasthan Youth Association (RYA) Madras Metro Trust and Chennai Food Bank which had done 30 years of service to the deserving needy people to stop their hunger, a commemorative trip for 1,008 children from various orphanages, destitute homes, physically and visually challenged students from Chennai were taken to the famous Tirumala temple for darshan for Lord Venkateswara-Lord Balaji at Tirumala Hills in Andhra Pradesh on April 25th 2023, in a special train from Chennai to Tirupati for the Lord Venkateswara’s Tirumala temple darshan, coordinated via Project Apna Bana Lo.
A specially chartered train was booked to take these 1,008 orphan children most of whom were travelling in train for the first time and not seen the Tirumala temple. The chief guests and guests for the flagging off for this special train on divine trip include Mr.Y.V.Subba Reddy, chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), Mr.A.J.Sekhar, president of TTD Local Advisory Board in Chennai, who were present when the special divine trip was flagged off from Chennai railway station on April 25th 2023.
Among those who were present include RYA Madras Metro Trust- Mr.Nirmal Nahar, managing trustee, Mr.Kapil Chordia, chairman, Gireesh Bhandari, secretary and Kishan Jain-Navin Sethia, conveners of Project Apna Bana Lo.
A special darshan was arranged at the famous Tirumala temple where the children had a darshan of Lord Venkateswara. Gifts were given to children.
