MADURAI: More than 300 units of blood was collected at a mega blood donation camp conducted in American College in Madurai on April 21st 2023. There was a very good voluntary response from students in this camp which was organised by the NSS units of American College along with Youth Red Cross (YRC) and Red Ribbon Club (RRC).
Dr.A.Rathanavel, Dean of Government Rajaji Hospital and Madurai Medical College, was invited for the inauguration of this blood donation camp. Dr.M.Davamani Christober, Principal and Secretary of American College, Madurai Corporation City Health Officer Dr.S.Vinodh Kumar and college Bursar Dr.Mrs. M.Beaula Ruby Kamalam were among those present.
A press release received from the college had informed that the blood donation camp got very good support from the doctors and staff of GRH Blood Bank and from the college faculty. The 9 NSS units of American College had made arrangements for the camp which was coordinated by NSS coordinator Mr.M.Meenakshisundaram and NSS programme officers Prof. Shahul Hameed, Sheela, Dopni, Prof.Mangaiyakarasi, Yesurajan, Palanichamy, Gnanamani, Vigneswaran and Josaiah.
