MADURAI: The Madurai Kamaraj University Faculty Association (MUFA) is going to make an important demand to the varsity administration, to MKU Syndicate members and to the Higher Education Secretary to take steps for appointing a full-time Registrar for MKU. (Dr.K.Sadasivam is now Registrar in-charge of the university).
University sources told ‘LotusTimes’ media on April 17th 2023 that MUFA is planning to give a representation to the varsity Syndicate members and to the Vice-Chancellor Prof.Dr.J.Kumar in a couple of days urging him to take immediate steps for appointing a full-time Registrar who is eligible and as per seniority prescribed by guidelines. The Syndicate meeting of MKU is scheduled to take place on 24th April 2023 and hence this demand gains importance.
“The present Registrar is holding the post on in-charge bsis. There is an urgent need to have a full-time Registrar, who should be appointed only after meeting the eligibility criteria. We are urging the MKU Syndicate to make a regular appointment for Registrar’s post based on seniority and eligibility. MUFA is going to submit a representation to our Syndicate members, our Higher Education Secretary and others. For the past three years, there is no full-time Registrar for MKU. What we have is only Registrar in-charge, and we don’t know why the delay and what are the problems to have a full-time Registrar for our university,” a few senior faculty members of MKU told ‘Lotus Times’ website on April 17th 2023.
