MADURAI: Parvathy, the temple elephant of Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in Madurai, got a spacious bathing tank filled with water on the lines of a swimming pool. Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Mr.P.T.R.Palanivel Thiaga Rajan had inaugurated it on April 16th 2023 in the presence of temple officials and staff.
This swimming pool enclosure for the elephant of famous Meenakshi Temple in Madurai was built at a cost of about Rs.22 lakhs and it is situated very closeby to the temple premises thereby making it easy for the elephant. At a time when the summer is peaking and temperature is rising resulting in scorching heat, the temple elephant is certain to get a huge sigh of relief as it can beat the heat. And, it is also a good news for devotees of Meenakshi Temple in Madurai who are very much concerned about the health of temple elephant Parvathy.
