MADURAI: The Gandhi Memorial Museum in Madurai is making all arrangements to provide a display of visual biography of Mahatma Gandhi. It is expected to be ready in 10 days time and opened to general public.
Museum secretary Mr.K.R.Nanda Rao has said today that the visual biography of Gandhiji will show various important photographs of the Father of the Nation at various stages of his life.
“There will be about 135 selected photos of Mahatma Gandhi in this visual biography section that will be opened soon. Maybe in another 10 days, it will be ready for display. The visual biography of Gandhiji was there already but had to be closed temporarily due to major renovation works being done for Gandhi Memorial Museum. Now we are making arrangements to display once again the selected photos from his birth to death. Through these important photographs, you can see Gandhiji’s life,” Mr.Nanda Rao told ‘LotusTimes‘ here on April 11th 2023.
Already, there are photographs on display highlighting India’s freedom struggle and Gandhiji as a lawyer. The museum will soon have an exclusive visual biography with 135 pictures that tell everything about his life.
The famous Gandhi Museum in Madurai is presently undergoing renovation works at a cost of about Rs.6 crores allotted by the Tamil Nadu State government. “Renovation is expected to be completed in another six months time (by October) as the State government is following a full-fledged schedule to finish the work. All steps have been taken to maintain the heritage building and its great look, thanks to the tourism and culture department,” Mr.Nanda Rao added.
