MADURAI: The Velammal College of Engineering and Technology (VCET) at Viraganoor in Madurai had celebrated its 11th college day ‘Odyssey-2023’ on April 6th 2023. Dr.S.Aneesh Sekhar, Madurai District Collector, who was the chief guest, had advised students to aim high in life, think beyond their engineering education and focus on development of nation.
Mr.V.Ganapathy Subramanian, associate vice-president of TAFE (Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited), was the guest of honour. Mr.M.V.Muthuramalingam, Chairman, Velammal Educational Trust, encouraged the students to participate in competitions and give importance for personality development, a press release received from the college has said.
Awards, prizes and certificates were distributed to best student innovators, best student researcher, academic toppers of all branches and to sports winners. Dr.N.Suresh Kumar, senior principal cum coordinator, Velammal Group of Schools-Madurai Region, welcomed the gathering while VCET Principal Dr.P.Alli had proposed a vote of thanks. The college day event was coordinated by Dr.S.Vasuki, Dean (student affairs), the press release added.
