MADURAI: Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi will flag off a new tri-weekly express train service between Chennai Tambaram and Sengottai on April 8th 2023. This train (Number 20683/ 20684) will provide direct connectivity to Chennai for remote stations in delta districts of Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and also for Ambasamudram in Tirunelveli distirct.
This Tambaram-Sengottai-Tambaram Superfast Express will also be the first regular train service from Chennai to Tiruvarur-Karaikudi section, according to a press release received here from the Southern Railway Madurai Division here today. The train service benefits students, employees, businessmen and regularly travelling people besides giving tourism boost.
Train number 20683 Tambaram-Sengottai Express train will be operated as weekly service for a period of two months upto 29th May 2023. Advance reservation for train ticket booking is open now. The frequency of this train will be increased to tri-weekly from June 2023 onwards (From Tambaram on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays) and from Sengottai on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
