MADURAI: The 65th College Day function of Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) in Madurai was held on 31st March 2023 with Padma Shri Dr.Sridhar Vembu, Founder and CEO of ZOHO Corporation as chief guest.
Addressing the students of TCE, he spoke about the rapid software development and technology revolution that is taking place in different fields and the possible transition that could happen in real world. He had emphasized on sensor processing, healthcare and management where automation can be applied in a big way.
“Everyone has to always question ‘what will I do in next five or 10 years. Last 20 years cannot give a prediction for coming years. So, you have to be updated to the current scenario. That is the reflection point. We have to take ownership and go for ‘Make in India’. All the talent heads have to stay in their respective hometowns to feel rooted and connected. We have to achieve more and ZOHO also wants to achieve more. New things will emerge in the world in coming days and the focus should be on real world problems,” Dr.Sridhar Vembu has said while delivering the College Day address at the 65th College Day of TCE in Madurai on March 31st 2023.
Mr.K.Hari Thiagarajan, Member of TCE Governing Council, who delivered the presidential address, spoke about the achievements and contributions made by ZOHO founder Dr.Sridhar Vembu, and his reach out to funding of education for rural students. This year, 70 students of TCE got placed in ZOHO.
Dr.M.Palaninatha Raja, Principal in-charge of TCE, presented the annual report while eight students of excellence were recognized and medals given to best outgoing students at the college day function here today. Dr.S.J.Thiruvengadam, Dean-Academics, had proposed a vote of thanks.
