MADURAI: The Madurai Corporation had procured 12 Desilting Grab Bucket Machines at a cost of Rs.1.4 crores for removing the mud blocks in underground drainage. Various works are being undertaken by the civic body for desilting of storm water drains and underground drainage system across the city.
On March 28th 2023, Madurai Corporation Mayor Mrs.Indrani Ponvasanth and Corporation Commissioner Mr.Simranjeet Singh had flagged off the desilting machines in the presence of senior officials, at the corporation main building here.
Among those who were present at the flagging off event include Zone chairpersons, City Engineer Mr.Arasu, corporation PRO Mr.Maheswaran and others.
