MADURAI: The ‘bhoomi puja’ for restoration of pillars in the Veera Vasantharayar Mandapam at the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai took place today morning- on March 27th 2023. Renovation works are underway in this stone pillars mandapam which was damaged in a major fire accident in February 2018.
The Tamil Nadu government has taken steps to renovate the famous Veera Vasantharayar Mandapam in Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple and stone pillars are going to be restored along with other works needed for renovation.
In the ‘bhoomi puja’ ceremony held today morning, Madurai District Collector Dr.S.Aneesh Sekhar, Mayor Indrani Ponvasanth and Meenakshi Temple ‘Thakkar’ Mr.Karumuttu T Kannan were present, according to a press release received from the district collectorate here on March 27th 2023.
