MADURAI: Dr.K.R.Kannappan, a well-known ENT surgeon and founder chairman of Om Sakthi Multi-Speciality Hospital at K.Pudur in Madurai, was conferred ‘Medical Excellence Award-2023’ by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Madurai Branch. The awards presentation function of ‘Muthoot Golden Awards for Medical Excellence 2023’ took place at the IMA Hall in Madurai on March 18th 2023.
Ms.Indrani Ponvasanth, Madurai Corporation Mayor, had given away the certification of appreciation and awards for various award recipients from different fields of medical profession, who were honoured by the IMA Madurai Branch for their distinguished service, in recognition of their outstanding commitment and valued contribution in medical services.
Dr.K.R.Kannappan has a distinguished service of 42 years in the field of ENT and is a former Professor and Head of Department of ENT at Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH)-Madurai Medical College. On his behalf, the award was received by his son Dr.K.Arun Ganesh who is also a ENT surgeon.
Among those who were present at the IMA Madurai Branch awards presentation event include Dr.Pugalagiri Vadamalayan, Chairman and Managing Director of Vadamalayan Hospitals, Dr.R.Mahalingam, president of IMA Madurai Branch and Dr.V.N.Alagavenkatesan, honorary secretary.
