MADURAI: The Institute of Gandhian Studies and Research of Gandhi Memorial Museum in Madurai has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ambiga College of Arts and Science for Women situated at Anna Nagar in Madurai to promote Gandhian values and orient the students towards Gandhian Thought as a part of value education initiative.
This MoU was signed here on March 8th 2023 on the occasion of International Women’s Day by Mrs.S.Kanahambal, Correspondent of Ambiga College (affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University) and Dr.R.Devadoss, Principal of Institute of Gandhian Studies and Research, Gandhi Museum.
According to a press release, the main objective of MoU is to promote Gandhian values such as Satya, Ahimsa, Satyagraha, Sarvodaya, sanitation, cleanliness, women empowerment and respect to all religions through seminars, guest lectures etc. It will also orient the students for Gandhian Thought exam through certificate and diploma course, besides conducting internship programme to students.
Mr.K.R.Nanda Rao, secretary of Gandhi Memorial Museum, Dr.K.S.Shyamala, principal, Ambiga Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Mrs.Kowsalya, assistant professor in the college and Mr.R.Natarajan, Education Officer, were among those present during this MoU signing here on March 8th 2023.
