MADURAI: The International Women’s Day was celebrated in American College in Madurai on March 8th 2023 under the theme ‘DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality’ wit various competitions conducted and nearly 350 girl students participating in poetry writing, elocution, flowers arrangement, photography, vegetable carving, face painting, rangoli, hairdo, fireless cooking, pencil drawing and playing of musical instruments etc with full power in Fem Fiesta 2023.
Advocate S.Selva Gomathi, joint director of SOCO Trust-Madurai, was the chief guest and she spoke on ‘Walk with Dignity-Today’s Contexts’ by highlighting the importance of women’s day celebrations, significance of women in India’s history and Indian Constitution.
A press release received from the college here yesterday has said that the chief guest advocate Selva Gomathi had appreciated the efforts of American College Principal and Secretary Dr.M.Davamani Christober in bringing women to various leadership positions in the college.
Dr.Beaulah Ruby Kamalam, Bursar of American College, welcomed the gathering while Dr.D.Rachel Malini, additional dean of women students, had proposed a vote of thanks.
