MADURAI: Senior academician and former Vice-Chancellor of Anna University in Chennai Prof.Dr.E.Balagurusamy has given a counterpoint to the opinions expressed by Mr.Prince Gajendra Babu, general secretary of SPCSS-TN (State Platform for Common School System-Tamil Nadu) against the Tamil Nadu government’s plan to introduce ‘Model School’ concept in the State. In a press statement yesterday, Mr.Prince Gajendra Babu has said that model schools may be a boon for selected students but it will weaken many government and aided schools in Tamil Nadu. Responding to the doubts and objections raised by Mr.Prince Gajendra Babu about model schools,, the former Vice-Chancellor of Anna University has said in a message to ‘LotusTimes’ that “Karunanidhi’s Samacheer Kalvi only killed the school education in Tamil Nadu. Students are not able to face NEET, JEE and CUET only due to poor standards of ‘Samacheer’ curriculum. Mr.Gajendra Babu must understand this.”
