Bihar Governor inaugurates 14th ‘Prakriti’ documentary film festival in Madurai Kamaraj University

MADURAI: Governor of Bihar Mr.Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar had today inaugurated the 14th Prakriti International Documentary Film Festival being organized in Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) here from March 1st to 3rd 2023.

The Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), New Delhi is organizing this documentary film festival in MKU campus in collaboration with the university’s Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC). This documentary film festival was inaugurated on March 1st 2023 by Bihar Governor Mr.Rejendra Viswanath Arlekar in the presence of CEC Director Mr.Jagat Bhushan Nadda and MKU Vice-Chancellor Prof.Dr. J.Kumar.

The focus of Prakriti International Documentary Films Festival is on environment, development, human rights, Swachh Bharat, ecology and hygiene. During these three days of film festival, 20 films are being screened to sensitize the students and stakeholders on focused themes. A total of 86 entries were received for the documentary film festival including entries from south east Asian countries.

The CEC is an inter-university centre of the University Grants Commission on electronic media, it is mandated to develop educational media content and dissemination through online and offline media, using ICT to empower digital content in higher education. Educational repository is being translated into 12 regional languages.

Among those who were present at the inaugural function held in MKU campus today morning include Dr.Sunil Mehru, joint director (software) of CEC-New Delhi and S.Murali, Director, EMRC-MKU.
