MKU staff to have BIOMETRIC ATTENDANCE soon as MACHINES are installed in many departments already

MADURAI: The employees of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) in Madurai will soon have a biometric attendance system in place as the university administration is in the process of implementing biometric attendance machines in all departments for its teaching and non-teaching staff to ensure a good attendance monitoring mechanism, sources have confirmed to ‘LotusTimes’ website here today- on February 25th 2023.

“Our Vice-Chancellor Prof.Dr.J.Kumar is a very passionate technology academician who wants to implement good things that are happening in other higher education institutions and offices. So, our university is going to get Biometric attendance system with finger prints for daily staff attendance. Some machines were already installed in a few sections and departments of MKU for trail basis. This decision was taken to ensure that there is a cohesiveness, coordination and transparency in our university staff attendance. Biometric attendance will help our university to have a professional technology system that is there is many government offices and private sector already. Trial is now going on for testing biometric attendance in our university VC office, Registrar office, Controller of Examinations office, Dean CDC office etc. Very soon, we will have a biometric attendance system for entire MKU staff based on feedback and opinions especially from the teaching faculty and research wings,” a few senior employees from teaching and non-teaching sections of university have said today.
