MKU focus is on developing students’ skills, VC speaks at Wakf Board College 47th Graduation Day

MADURAI: The Vice-Chancellor of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) Prof.Dr.J.Kumar has today said that the university has been putting lot of focus for providing skill development among students and several initiatives are underway with thrust on incubation, innovation, entrepreneurship and value addition of courses.

“Skill development programs to train our students is a big initiative right now in Tamil Nadu. The State government’s ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ skill development platform is a high impact program. Our university too steps to train 1,000 faculty members. Our overall objective is to enhance the employment opportunities for students through skill oriented educational courses,” the MKU Vice-Chancellor had stressed while delivering graduation day address at the 47th Graduation Day of M.S.S.Wakf Board College in Madurai on 23rd February 2023.

Stating that the university is providing programs on computer courses, English communication and digital learning etc, Prof.Dr.J.Kumar has informed that several new initiatives are in pipeline and will be taking shape soon such as community radio for knowledge sharing and public awareness, training orientation in gold related programs in Madurai etc.

DEGREES FOR 1,170 STUDENTS:

Madurai District Collector Dr.S.Aneesh Sekhar who is the Secretary and Correspondent of M.S.S.Wakf Board College, had presided over the 47th Graduation Day ceremony today and congratulated the candidates who received their degrees.

Totally 1,170 students who had completed their courses from various disciplines have received their degrees today.

Earlier, Dr.A.Mohamed Aslam, college Principal, had welcomed the gathering and presented the college report detailing about the courses being offered by M.S.S.Wakf Board College, the expansion plans and how the college has been a great hope for students coming from various sections of the society especially from the poor and economically deserving families.

Among those who were present at the 47th Graduation Day event include founder member of the college Mr.E.Imthiyaz along with governing body members- S.Mohamed Abdullah and S.A.Liyahath Ali besides the heads of departments and faculty members.
