MADURAI: Tamil Nadu Minister of Finance and Human Resources Management Dr.P.T.R.Palanivel Thiagarajan has today exhorted students and graduates to actively participate in understanding societal issues and take up leadership positions.
“Life is a journey of discovery, to know about themselves, to know who they are and to find out the purpose of life. You should have a vision and goal before you prove yourselves. If graduates choose the right path, they can be successful. In a growing society, if you actively participate in understanding the needs, you can be successful,” Mr.PTR has said while delivering the graduation day address at the 56th Graduation Day of Lady Doak College in Madurai on January 28th 2023.
He also quoted a poem ‘The Road Not Taken’ by Robert Frost to highlight the point that graduates must have the capacity to choose the right path and develop capacity to prove themselves for success. He paid glorious tributes to the founder of Lady Doak College Ms.Katie Wilcox and to the American missionaries who came to serve in India.
Dr.Christianna Singh, Principal and Secretary of Lady Doak College, presented the college annual report through a video presentation and also administered pledge to passing out graduates. Totally, 1,257 graduates (2018-2021) received their diplomas in today’s graduation day event, a press release received from the college has informed. Ms.J.Nikita, former student president, shared her reflection. Dr.Beulah Jeyashree, vice-principal, LDC, welcomed the gathering.
