MADURAI: Dr.B.Chandra Mohan, senior IAS officer and Principal Secretary of Tourism, Culture and HR&CE Department of Government of Tamil Nadu and the monitoring officer for Madurai District had inspected the ongoing renovation works at the Gandhi Memorial Museum in Madurai here today- on 24th November 2022.
Accompanied by Madurai District Collector Dr.S.Aneesh Sekhar, he had enquired and inspected the restoration, renovation and upgradation being done for the famous Gandhi Museum in Madurai, for which the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister had already announced special funds to give a facelift and makeover for the Madurai Gandhi Museum.
The Gandhi Memorial Museum in Madurai is being renovated with a special fund and it was announced by the Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin last year to mark the celebrating of centenary of Mahatma Gandhi’s historic visit to Madurai in September 1921. Various facilities and amenities are being created in the Gandhi Memorial Museum and Dr.B.Chandramohan had inspected the renovation and restoration works being carried out in the museum here. Mr.K.R.Nanda Rao, secretary, Gandhi Memorial Museum-Madurai and others were present.
