New GM of Southern Railway R.N.Singh assumes charge

MADURAI: Mr.R.N.Singh has assumed charge as the General Manager of Southern Railway in Chennai on 7th November 2022. He is an officer of Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) cadre 1986 batch and he had served in the Indian Railway and PSUs in several important executive and management positions such as Divisional Railway Manager of Delhi Division, Managing Director of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited etc.

A press release received from the Southern Railway here in Madurai today has said that prior to taking over as GM of Southern Railway, Mr.R.N.Singh held the post of Principal Executive Director / Infrastructure in Ministry of Railways and Secretary-Railway Board.

The new GM of Southern Railway Mr.R.N.Singh has rich experience in planning and execution of mega rail infrastructure projects such as Dedicated Freight Corridors, major bridges, high speed railway lines etc. He also has wide experience in railway management during his career spanning more than 34 years, the press release said. He is an alumnus of IIT Roorkee and had undergone multiple training sessions in disaster management from Holland, Advanced Management from Singapore / Malaysia strategic management from Paris and ISB, Mechanised Maintenance from Austria and Executive Management from University of Bocconi, Italy.
