MADURAI: The Southern Railway has taken steps to run special fare special trains in order to clear extra rush during the Deepavali festival, to be run in Tambaram-Tirunelveli sector via Karaikudi and Aruppukottai.
Train No.06021 Tambaram-Tirunelveli Junction festival special fare special train will leave Tambaram in Chennai at 21.00 hrs on 20th October 2022 (Thursday) and reach Tirunelveli Junction at 09.00 hrs on the next day. In the return direction, Train No.06022 Tirunelveli Junction-Chennai Egmore festival special special train will leave Tirunelveli railway junction at 13.00 hrs on 21st October 2022 (Friday) and reach Chennai Egmore at 03.20 hrs on the next day, according to a press release received from the Madurai Division of Southern Railway here today.
The trains will halt at Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Vridhachalam, Tiruchi, Pudukottai, Karaikudi, Sivaganga, Manamadurai, Aruppukottai, Virudhunagar, Sattur and Kovilpatti. The Tirunelveli-Chennai Egmore special train will halt at Tambaram and Mambalam additionally.
One AC first class coach, two AC 2 tier coaches, six AC 3-tier coaches, six sleeper class coaches, two general second coaches, one general second class coach (Divyangian friendly) and one luggage cum brake van will be augmented in these special trains. Advance reservation for these special fare special trains will open at 8 am on October 19th 2022.
