MADURAI: Just hours ahead of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin’s visit to Madurai on 14th September 2022, an urgent appeal has been made on behalf of the 1,000 Non-Minority School teachers in the State who are suffering because of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) condition for the past 11 years and these teachers are appealing to Chief Minister to show mercy on them.
In an important press statement issued from Madurai on September 13th 2022 on behalf of these teachers’ association, it was pointed out for the public attention that in 2017 government school teachers and government-aided minority school teachers in 2013 were given a one-week training and they are getting all benefits till date. “The School Education Minister in the previous AIADMK regime assured that that we the non-minority school teachers will also be given one week refresher training and protected. But, we have been forced to protect ourselves through courts. We are in a state of tension and no protection to us till now from school education department. We are waiting for a good news from CM Mr.Stalin and already our requests were given to Mr.Stalin during his election campaign. HE CAN FREE US FROM WRITING THE TET exam and we are appealing to the Chief Minister to EXEMPT us from TET. This demand of ours was already taken to the CM’s attention at the recent JACTO GEO conference held in Chennai,” said the press statement which was issued from Madurai today by State organizers A.Chandran, S.Bhupathi and K.Sivagnanam.
