MADURAI: The EC members’ election of the Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Madurai is going to see a tough fight in September 2022 as more people are joining the election fray to become EC members of the TN Chamber, sources told ‘LotusTimes’ news website www.lotustimes.org- here today – on September 10th 2022.
Election for EC members of the chamber is slated to take place this month end. There are around 4,500 members in Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce, and they are representing various trades and businesses in different places of Tamil Nadu. ( 15 EC members are elected in rotation every year for 15 retiring members and the term of each EC member is three years).
“Becoming an EC member is the first step to later become an office-bearer of TN Chamber. Compared to last three or four years, there is more interest evinced by chamber members this year to become EC member. The election will take place in September end, totally 15 members will retire and election takes place for the members for electing EC members election. There are totally 45 elected EC members. Only those who become EC members can become chamber office-bearers,” sources said today. For the 15 vacancies coming now this month, more than 25 members are contesting to become EC member.
