11 food associations in Tamil Nadu tell BJP their GST problems at Madurai meeting; Will BJP and Nirmala Sitharaman come to their rescue?

MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association had organized a special meeting in its office in Madurai on August 30th 2022 to convey the grievances of food traders to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with a hope that their difficulties and pending issues on GST and the Food Safety Act will be addressed by the Central govt soon.

Mr. S.P.Jeyapragasam, president, TN Foodgrains Merchants Association, has informed in a press release here yesterday after that meeting, that 11 food associations connected to foodgrains and food business have expressed their problems on GST and Food Safety and Standards Act to the BJP team led by Tamil Nadu BJP State General Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan and to the BJP traders wing secretary Mr.C.M.Karthik Prabhu.

Traders and manufacturers of food products had an interaction meeting with the BJP team in Madurai yesterday where the GST grievances of those who are in foodgrains business / farmers issues and their demands for changes in Food Safety Standards Act were taken to the attention of the BJP and through them to the Union Government.
