MADURAI: The Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (MADITSSIA) had submitted an appeal representation to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission here on August 18th 2022 voicing its shock and opposing the TANGEDCO’s proposal for electricity charges tariff revision. Mr.M.S.Sampath, MADITSSIA president, told reporters at a press conference in Madurai today that medium and small scale industries in Tamil Nadu will be forced to shut down their units if the proposal for power tariff hike is accepted because MSMEs cannot bear the FIXED CHARGES, PEAK HOURS INCREASE, PER UNIT POWER TARIFF HIKE AND 6% ANNUAL INCREASE OF POWER TARIFF.

“The proposed revision is very exorbitant and if approved it will be detrimental to MSMEs in our State. Hence we strongly oppose the EB tariff proposed revision,” MADITSSIA president Mr.M.S.Sampath told reporters in Madurai after submitting a representation to the TNERC at its hearing in Madurai today.
