MADURAI: In an important administration revamp move in the Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) in Madurai, 26 senior officials have been transferred to other sections today. On 13th May 2022, the MKU administration carried out a massive reshuffle of its administrative staff from one section to another because they were there in those ‘seats’ for quite a long period of atleast three years, reliable sources told ‘Lotus Times’ website today evening.
“It is a transfer of senior level staff. From Establishment to Finance section. Starting from superintendent level to assistant registrar to deputy registrar to senior deputy registrar level, these transfers took place. There is nothing wrong in this because the new Vice-Chancellor Prof.J.Kumar would have wanted a reshuffle to stop the standstill in administration. It is confirmed that 26 senior level officers in MKU have been transferred today. Transferring of staff from one section to another is OK. How long can a person be in the same seat for three years or more. We came to know that this process is long overdue because former Vice-Chancellor Dr. Krishnan could not undertake this reshuffle process,” a senior member of ‘Save Member Coalition’ has said today when contacted.
Meanwhile, the ‘LotusTimes’ website has received information from certain quarters that two persons are acting as ‘shadows’ to the present Vice-Chancellor, and they are involved in the transfer of officers according to their convenience. This allegation comes close in the wake of sacking of 136 contract workers of MKU who have been removed recently after the new Vice-Chancellor Dr.J.Kumar assumed charge.
